AES Members' Day and AGM, a great success

At the AGM and Members' Day of the society on 30th April, the coleopterist Peter Hodge of Lewes, Sussex was elected President of the Society for the period 2011-12.

The 4th Annual Leonard Tesch lecture was given by Dr Martin Hall, Head of Research in the Entomology Department of the Natural History Museum, London.

Other speakers were Professor Stuart Reynolds (Bath) Dr Sarah Dewhirst (Rothamsted Research) Mr Jim Brady and the award winning young photographer, Samuel Baylis.

Guests at the members' day included Dennis Fullwood and Pam Hamer from our affiliates the Quekett Microscopical Club, whose display of a video microscope and insects in amber proved very popular among AES members and visitors alike.
