<summary>The Conservation of Beetles</summary>
<dtstart>20070502T100000</dtstart>
<dtend>20070502T160000</dtend>
<description> The Coleoptera (beetles) have the unique combination of being a very diverse group (many species, occurring in a wide range of habitats) and enjoying the attention and support of a large number of professional and amateur entomologists. A considerable amount of research has been focused on individual species of conservation concern, including many on the UK Biodiversity Action Plan, unusual and vulnerable beetle assemblages, and the protection and enhancement of predatory species for biocontrol in the agricultural landscape. This meeting will be an opportunity for anyone with an involvement in beetle conservation (e.g. as researcher, conservation professional, amateur recorder, site manager) to hear talks on a wide range of current projects. There will be ample time over lunch and during refreshment breaks to discuss issues with other beetle enthusiasts. Contact: Dr Alan J.A.
