SUMMARY:Flamingo Land Bioblitz 2012
LOCATION:Flamingo Land, Kirby Misperton, Malton, North Yorkshire, YO17 6UX, UK.
DESCRIPTION: From 12 noon on Bank holiday Monday 4th of June until 12 noon on Tuesday 5th of June, Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo (Malton) is holding its second Bioblitz. It will be part of 'Love Your Zoo Week'; which is two weeks of fun filled activities to celebrate the good work of zoos, culminating on Saturday the 9th June for 'Tanzania Day' a day in Flamingo Land that is focused on our conservation project based in East Africa. A Bioblitz is a race against the clock where experts and the public of all ages work together to count as many species as possible in a set area, in just 24 hours! These records are then supplied to a national Bioblitz database. We have the public but we need the experts. So in order to make the event as successful as possible, we need expert volunteers with knowledge of species identification.
