SUMMARY:Solitary Bees and Wasps Workshop
LOCATION:Chilcomb House, Chilcomb Lane, Winchester, SO23 8RD, UK.
DESCRIPTION: This workshop will look at how to separate solitary bees and wasps from similar-looking insects and how to identify them to family level.  It is designed to act as springboard to more detailed identification at species level. The day is suitable for anyone aged 18 and over and will include various talks and demonstrations by the leader. However, the emphasis for the day is very much on participants having a go themselves at identifying actual specimens using the microscopes and identification keys provided. During the afternoon session (weather permitting), we will search the grounds of Chilcomb House to demonstrate the fieldwork techniques used to find and record species in their natural habitat. Cost: £25.00 (to include tea/coffee; participants to provide their own packed lunch).
