SUMMARY:South Downs Field Trip 2016
LOCATION:Malling Down, Sussex, UK.
DESCRIPTION: A field trip looking for skipper and blue butterflies, among other insects, led by Peter Hodge. How to get there Location details: Malling Down Nature Reserve is in Lewes, East Sussex. We will meet at the Sussex Wildlife Trust car park, at the top of Mill Road (TQ42281120). If you are travelling by public transport there is a bus stop close to Mill Road named 'Church Lane', and all Brighton & Hove city buses Nos 28 & 29 stop there. (The buses have on-board electronic signs announcing the next stop, which is handy). From the railway station it is an 8 minute walk to the bus station or 15-20 minutes to Mill Road, which is a right turn off the A26 Uckfield road on the sharp bend / cross roads at the top of the hill as you are leaving Lewes in a northerly direction.  The short bus journey between Lewes bus station and Mill Road costs £2 (minimum fare) so best to walk.
