Event description
The annual National Butterfly Recorders' Meeting provides the latest information on butterfly trends from the national recording and monitoring schemes, new research findings from scientists, feedback from butterfly recorders across the UK and plenty of time to relax and chat over a buffet lunch with fellow enthusiasts.
As usual, there will be an exciting line up of talks for the day including the first public disclosure of official butterfly population trends from the previous year from the UKBMS transect network. As this year is Butterfly Conservation's 50th anniversary; Dr Martin Warren will be taking a retrospective look at the first 50 years of Butterfly Conservation while Professor Chris Thomas will be considering what the next 50 years hold for the UK's Lepidoptera.
The meeting is open to anyone involved in butterfly recording and monitoring and is a great opportunity to mingle with butterfly enthusiasts from around the country. The registration fee is £10.00 per person and includes morning tea/coffee and a buffet lunch, subsidised from Butterfly Conservation budgets.
