04 May 2019 11:00 - 16:00

Location: Gilbert White's House and Oates Collection, The Wakes, High Street, Selborne, Hampshire, GU34 3JH, UK.

Event description

This year's Young Entomologists' Day will be held where, many say, ecology began - Gilbert White's House in Selborne, Hampshire.

Gilbert White was an 18th century naturalist and rector of the parish of Selborne, in Hampshire. White's book on the natural history of Selborne, first published in 1789, has never been out of print!

This event is open to Bug Club members and any other young entomologists. Attendance is free of charge but registration is required. There are three kinds of registration:

  • Speaker attendance
  • Ordinary attendance
  • Accompanying adult

Speaker attendance is for young entomologists who would like to give a short talk about any aspect of entomology. As in previous years, the talks are adjudicated and prizes will be awarded for the best talks.

Please see the guidelines for presenters [252K .docx].
