SUMMARY:AES & Bug Club Open Day 2013
LOCATION:Oxford University Museum of Natural History, Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3PW, UK.
DESCRIPTION: The University Museum is currently closed to the public for building repairs. This is our annual visit to the Oxford Museum's entomology department, hosted by Darren Mann and the Museum's Education Department. Weather permitting, we will begin the day with a bug hunt in the nearby University Parks and then return to the museum to examine insects under the microscope, handle live insects (mostly big ones!) and there will be a pinning workshop and a behind the scenes tour of the Hope entomological collections, and perhaps other activities depending on feedback from Bug Clubbers. Although this event is organised primarily for Bug Club members and their guests, others with a genuine interest in entomology can also apply to attend by contacting the AES Secretary. There is no charge, but please note: if you are not a member it is important that you let us know that you plan to attend because the Museum is otherwise closed to the public this year, due to building remediation work).
