SUMMARY:How to Paint Butterflies 2015
LOCATION:Royal West of England Academy, Queen's Road, Clifton, Bristol BS8 1PX, UK.
DESCRIPTION: Butterflies are amongst our most well known and well loved insects. This watercolour painting day gives those of us who are fascinated by these ethereal creatures, the chance to study them and paint them in wonderful detail. This is a unique and absorbing course, is aimed at both lovers of painting and entomology, especially butterflies. You don't have to be an expert in either, but you need to be fascinated by both! Each student will have the use of high powered microscopes to study the anatomical beauty of these delicate creatures, and will use specimens and macro photographic material to produce a detailed and unique painting. We will discuss how butterflies taste their food, how they eat their food, how they create those beautiful patterns on their wings and how they protect themselves against predators.
