AES Conservation Project
A photograph of Tephritis divisa, a picture winged fly new to Britain and discovered by AES member Peter Hodge during an AES field trip to The Brooks Open Space, Bognor Regis in August 2005.
The Bersted Brooks Open Space, Bognor Regis, West Sussex was designated as a public open space a few years ago, previously being agricultural land. The Friends of Bersted Brooks manage the site with assistance from Arun District Council.
The AES is dedicated to increasing the list of invertebrates recorded from the site. Our first visit was in August 2005 and a list of the invertebrates found, including a fly not recorded in Britain before, is available:
The AES returned to the site on 20th June 2009 and a new report will be posted in the near future. If you visit Bersted Brooks please email any invertebrate records you might have from the site to: conservation@amentsoc.org
