Conservation
Conservation is the maintenance and protection of biodiversity. Conservation may include land management techniques such as allowing wild plants to grow at field margins or creating wildlife corridors to allow animals to move between areas in safety.
Conservation efforts can often be focused on a specific species such as the Wart-biter cricket (Decticus verrucivorus) in the UK. Alternatively, conservation work may be aimed at conserving a particular habitat that is of importance to a large number of species.
