Moth Identification Workshop 2020

Event description

Head out into the field to identify moths with expert tutor Bryan Pinchen - consultant entomologist and author. There are 2,400 species of UK moths. In this one-day workshop you can learn how to identify the difference between the various moth families.

The morning session will be at Portsmouth Museum, where we will be using insects from the museum's and tutor's collection and keys to look at identification features. The afternoon will be spent on Portsdown Hill looking at moths in the field and applying the identification techniques learnt in the morning.

This event is for adults aged 18+. It's best suited to beginners and those looking to improve their insect identification skills.

Cost - £25, or £15 with Leisure Card.
