Introduction to Identifying Ladybirds

09 July 2020 14:30 - 15:45

Location: Online

Event description

Free online event, booking required, donations welcome. We will have Helen Roy and Peter Brown joining us in this VMU. Helen is an ecologist at the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology and Peter is a senior lecturer in ecology at Anglia Ruskin University. Both co-lead the UK Ladybird Survey. Ladybirds belong to the scientific family Coccinellidae. In Britain there are nearly 50 species within this family, although only 26 of these are recognisable as ladybirds (conspicuous ladybirds). They will introduce you to some of these recognisable common species found in gardens.
