Event description
A talk looking at the inspiration of insects for embroidery motifs, over the centuries, such as butterflies on Chinese robes, and bees on the Empress Eugenie's clothing, plus the rather bizarre practice of actually stitching beetle elytra onto dress and textiles in late Victorian England.
