Moth trapping (June) - Devonshire Association
11 June 2011 21:00
Location: Hobby Drive, Clovelly, Devon, UK.
Event description
The venue is situated between Bideford and Hartland on the North Devon coast. Travel via the A 39 from Bideford and the B 3237 for Clovelly. Go to the western, Clovelly, end of Hobby Drive. The gate at Hobby Lodge at the other end of the drive will be locked. Meet at the white gates (SS 316 249) which mark the start of the drive just outside the village of Clovelly. These white gates are beside the public road towards the village, a further 500m down the hill past the sign which says 'All Vehicles for Clovelly'.
When we have congregated, we will walk or drive to suitable trapping locations along the drive. The habitat is ancient high forest woodland, dominated by oak but with beech and sycamore, together with areas of scree and patches of heather on the coastal slopes. Bring torches. Joint meeting with the Devon Moth Group.
If the weather looks unfavorable contact Rob Wolton.
