Location: Aylesbeare Common, Devon, UK.
Arachnid Day with Pete Smithers for spiders and associated beasties , morning (10.00 am to 12.30 pm) Aylesbeare Common, lunch and afternoon identification session both at Harpford Hall (1.00 pm to 4.00 pm).
Joint meeting with East Devon Wildlife Trust. Meet at Joneys Cross car park (SY 057 897) on left of A 3052 Exeter to Sidmouth road at 10.00 am. To access Harpford Hall exit Joneys Cross car park, turn left onto the A 3052 towards Sidmouth. Go through Newton Poppleford and after the bridge over the River Otter take the first left into Lower Way, Harpford, and Harpford Hall is about one quarter of a mile on the right. There are parking spaces along the roadside by Harpford Hall. Suitable for all levels of expertise from novices to arachnologists.
Wear appropriate clothing and stout footwear. Bring binoculars, an eye lens, specimen tubes and arachnid ID books if available. Microscopes, keys and lab. equipment to be provided. Drinks to be provided at Harpford Hall. Bring lunch.
There will be restrictions on numbers, particularly for the afternoon session, so booking is essential. Please note that there will be a charge of £5 per head for this event.
