Corfe Mullen BioBlitz 2011

28 May 2011 08:00 - 20:00

Location: Corfe Mullen, Dorset, UK.

Event description

As part of Dorset Wildlife Trust's 50th birthday celebrations, Dorset Wildlife Trust and Corfe Mullen Nature Watch are encouraging as many people as possible to join this exciting event. There will be guided walks of fascinating Heathland, Riverside and Meadows along with many other habitats.

The day will commence comparing the variety of moth's caught overnight at different locations. Pond dipping and searching for mini-beast's in a variety of habitats will be taking place throughout the day. There will be maps showing footpaths and areas to search, plus experts will be on hand to help with identifications. All the sightings will be collated and a valuable snapshot produced of the biodiversity of Corfe Mullen. The day will close with an evening bat walk around a beautiful habitat, hopefully adding to the huge array of species found during the 12 hour biodiversity extravaganza!
