Wildlife Gardening Forum Conference - Winter 2011

Event description

There will be a number of talks in the morning, with a strong focus on the role of wildlife gardening at the community level, culminating with a general discussion/workshop looking at issues around communities and wildlife. This discussion will take place in the light of the "Big Society", the Coalition's reworking of Planning, the findings of the National Ecosystem Assessment and the "Green Areas" designation in "Biodiversity 2020".

In the afternoon, we will be able to visit the inspirational King Henry's Walk Gardens nearby, and learn more about the Mildmay Centre's design (including its Green Roofs) from its architects. Finally, there will be a short formal Wildlife Gardening Forum AGM, which will review our finances and elect Trustees for the coming year.

Mildmay Community Partnership has offered the venue and assistance of its volunteers at a very keen price, bringing the cost per delegate down to £20, which includes a simple vegetarian friendly) lunch and refreshments through the day.
