Hoverflies Workshop 2013
13 April 2013 09:00 - 15:00
Location: Chilcomb House, Winchester, Hampshire, SO23 8RD, UK.
An introduction to some of the 270+ hoverflies found in the UK. Hoverflies get their name from their hovering ability and are among the most brightly coloured true flies. Some hoverflies are mistaken for bees and wasps as they are good mimics and these will be covered as part of the day s activities.
The day is suitable for anyone aged 18 and over and will include various talks and demonstrations using keys, photographs and museum specimens.
The emphasis for the day is very much on participants having a go themselves at identifying actual specimens using the microscopes and identification keys provided.
This event was not organised by the AES. Please contact the event organiser if you have any queries.
