Introduction to freshwater invertebrates 2013

Event description
This course is for beginners and those with more experience, to increase their identification and field skills. Collecting techniques for ponds, rivers, lakes and other aquatic habitats will be undertaken. A range of taxonomic keys to all aquatic invertebrate taxa will be available for participants to use, as well as a wide range of preserved specimens for participants to identify. An introduction to biotic indices for river water quality and PSYM methodology for ponds will be covered, as well as ecology, conservation and recording.
