Bug Club Day at Dinton Pastures 2015

27 June 2015 11:00 - 17:00

Location: Dinton Pastures Country Park, Davis Street, Hurst, Berkshire, RG10 0TH, UK.

Event description

This event is our annual event in collaboration with the British Entomological and Natural History Society (BENHS) whose headquarters are at Dinton Pastures Country Park, near Reading.

The plan for the day is approximately as follows:

  • 10 am: 'Meet a moth' - Emptying moth traps set up the night before by the BENHS (this part is also open to the public) and examining the moths.
  • 11 am - 2 pm: View the BENHS collections. Workshop on soil and leaf litter invertebrates. Lunch at the Dragonfly Cafe.
  • 2 pm: Bug Walk in the country park (this part is also open to the public).

The first half of this event (before 2 pm) is usually relatively small in terms of numbers, and so is an opportunity to have plenty of interaction with the expert entomologists present.
