Abandon Normal Devices Festival 2015

18 September 2015 - 20 September 2015

Location: Grizedale Forest, Lake District, Cumbria, LA22 0QJ, UK.

Event description

As part of this year's Abandon Normal Devices festival artist Brandon Ballongee will be creating a new iteration of Love Motel for Insects, a large-scale living sculpture of UV light on enormous sculpted canvases to attract an array of local insect life and create an opportunity for the public to interact with rarely-seen nocturnal arthropods.

We have also commissioned creative studio Marshmallow Laser Feast to create In the Eyes of the Animal, an immersive virtual reality experience told by the inhabitants of the forest. A 360 degree experience, the work will focus on the life cycle of three species and explore the line between virtual and real world experiences.

We also have a number of other thought-provoking and fascinating events taking place over the three days of the festival.
