An Entomological Experience 2016

18 June 2016 10:00 - 26 June 2016 17:00

Location: Brenley Farm, Selling, Faversham, Kent, ME13 9LY, UK.

Event description

Justin Gilday (www.justingilday.co.uk) is putting on an installation to coincide with The Royal Entomological Society's Insect Week. The installation will take place within sight of orchards, stables, the farm house and the Grain Store Studio.

Justin creates his art using the ancient, 'lost wax' technique. This creates insects made from silver. A group of his insects will form a social setting such as a wedding or his immensely popular nativity scene, often on salvaged wood. His work is aimed at tackling environmental issues such as the conservation of bees and wasps. The installation will be art and education as he poses questions to us about the future of several species. We, the audience, will enter a giant fly-screen box to experience the installation, which will have many separate rooms and narratives for us to view.

The event runs from 18-26 June Attendance is free!
