Bee and pollination festival 2017

02 September 2017 11:00 - 03 September 2017 18:00

Location: University of Bristol Botanic Garden, Stoke Park Rd, Stoke Bishop, Bristol, BS9 1JG, UK.

Event description

The Bee and Pollination festival returns! The bees, butterflies, moths, bats and birds take centre stage at the Botanic Garden during the first weekend of September, and rightly so. These industrious workers are vital for our existence and the festival will show just what they do for us and how we can help them.

This year the festival hosts the Bristol beekeepers annual 'honey show' where there will be live hive demonstrations together with a series of talks about bees and other pollinators; researchers from Bristol University will display their work on the fascinating world of pollinator behaviour and a number of nurseries will be selling bee-friendly plants; for children there is a bee trail and everyone can try their hand at willow weaving.
