What on Earth project now live

Published: 12 March 2010

National Science and Engineering Week is now upon us and with it comes the launch of the "What on Earth" project.

The project's aim is to get as many people across the country to go outside into their parks and gardens, to take photos of the plants and creatures they don't recognise and to get these identified. In exchange, they will send each person an information and education pack and a packet of seeds specially designed to grow a range of plants that will encourage a greater level of biodiversity.

'What on Earth' is a nationwide identification project to celebrate National Science and Engineering Week 2010, brought to you by the British Science Association and iSpot. Members of the Amateur Entomologists' Society are active on the site and helping identify invertebrates.
