Orlando Bloom attends the launch of a new children's book on insects

Published: 24 May 2010

Orlando Bloom, the famous Hollywood actor, attended the launch of a fantastic new children's book about insects. The book, "Basil the Beetle's Scary Adventure", is written by Orlando's mum and is published by the Amateur Entomologists' Society.

The book is about the adventures of Basil the Beetle, and his wife Betty, as they negotiate the hazards of beetle life in the garden. The book is aimed at children of primary school age and their families. In addition to the fictional story, the book contains information on beetles and other insects, and covers how to look after beetles as pets, and where to obtain pet insects.

Orlando and his sister Samantha supported their mother at the launch event which was part of the AES members' day held at the Natural History Museum in London.
