Start of National Insect Week 2008

Today is the start of National Insect Week 2008.  National Insect Week (NIW) is organised by the Royal Entomological Society and partner organisations, of which the AES is one, and runs every other year.

NIW features a week long series of insect events promoting insects that take place across the country. Previous events included moth trapping, butterfly walks and a dragonfly day. It's the perfect time to meet some of Britain's most fascinating creatures close-up.
