Prof. Michael Majerus, AES President

The AES is very sorry to bring you some very sad news about our President, Professor Michael Majerus.

Mike was diagnosed with a terminal illness last year, and passed away in the early hours of Tuesday morning, 27th January 2009.

Mike was extremely active on behalf of the AES to the end, for example being involved in organising our Members' Day which will be held in Cambridge on 18th April, and in November chairing the meeting that established our new partnership with the Royal Entomological Society to put the Bug Club on a sound footing for the future.

Mike will be sorely missed but his legacy to the AES and to British entomology and evolutionary biology will live on. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
