Christmas Quiz 2010 Results
Published: 02 February 2011
We received an excellent response to the Christmas Lepidoptera Quiz, with entrants donating £65 to Moths Count, a national moth recording initiative, supported by the AES, and run by Butterfly Conservation. Moths Count has just published its first Provisional Atlas of the UK's Larger Moths. Thanks to Graham Wenman for setting the Quiz questions!
The top three winners of the Quiz chose their prizes from AES memberships or books. Unsurprisingly, two of the three chose prizes that included a subscription to the Entomologist's Record for 2011 (the third winner was already a subscriber).
Published without a break since 1890, the Entomologist's Record is the leading peer-reviewed journal for entomologists interested in Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths), though the journal also includes important papers on other insect orders. The definitive annual review of migrant Lepidoptera is published in the Record, as is the authoritative annual review of microlepidoptera. The journal has been undergoing further development since it became an AES journal in 2009.
