Bug hunting at RHS Wisley

Published: 12 June 2008

WISLEY, the Royal Horticultural Society's HQ, has had an entomology department for over 100 years, and today there are two full time entomologists in residence.

At 1pm on Saturday 21st June the entomology department will be hosting an AES & Bug Club visit to Wisley. This will include an illustrated talk, pond dipping and a guided bug walk.

Entry to the event is FREE to AES members and of course includes access to the entire Wisley gardens (normally there would be an entrance fee). If you are not an AES or Bug Club member and would like to attend, you could join the Society on the day at Wisley, or you can join online.

The event will take place at the new Clore Educational Centre next to the magnificent (and massive) new glasshouses at Wisley. For further details, including where to meet up etc please contact us.

This is a fantastic venue for a field trip. For more expert entomologists there is also Wisley Common Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) across the road, which you could visit before our event starts at 1pm.

Wisley is situated just off the A3/M25 junction (J10) in Surrey, England.

We look forward to seeing you there!
